It HAS been a while, hasn't it?

As I look back over the spread of time since originally starting this, I realize a lot of life has happened. This blog was forgotten about until I recently upgraded my Nook color to operate as an Android tablet. Part of that process included setting up a G-Mail account, after doing so I found the photos I has been working with for this blog back in 2007. From there it was a matter of backtracking and finding out that this has been sitting here all this time, and then deciding to give this another go.

In 2007, I was in a stressful job that was taking twelve hours out of each day. I was always on my notebook while taking the train into work and on the way home. Most of my work day entailed graphics work, generating spreadsheets, and analysis. After spending that much time in front of computers every day, I now see why I was reluctant to spend my free time doing more computer stuff!

When our daughter decided to chuck it all and move to Oregon a few years ago, we were intrigued. California had long since lost its luster for us; and Elizabeth’s move planted a seed in our minds that germinated slowly for a while. We visited her after she was settled in, and liked what we saw. That seed kept growing, and when circumstances offered us a chance, we jumped and made the move ourselves.

It’s meant big changes, but very welcome ones. Our first grandchild was born here, and will be two years old next March. There are seasons to enjoy, with fall and winter being especially conducive to reading. I am semi-retired now and have found myself with more time than I have had in a long while, leading me back to my blog. So post away, I’m excited to be back!
